Antitrust obliges Yandex to stop discriminating third party services

MOSCOW, Feb 24 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has warned Yandex that it should offer third parties access to the same special promotional options in search results as the Internet company’s resources have within a month, according to the authority’s documents released on Wednesday.

The watchdog found in Yandex’s actions creation of unequal or discriminatory conditions by offering preferential options for its own services, like Yandex.Verticals or Yandex.Market, in promotion in the search system.

The Internet company is to publish the access terms to any promotion options in the search system. The requirements are to be respected within a month after receipt of the warning. During this period Yandex is to inform the authority every 10 days on the progress of the matter.
